The Problem

California just recovered from a drought. Farmers are trying different techniques to get more crop per drop.

Techniques that make water use more efficient are becoming more valuable as water price increases. However, progress in water conservation and innovation has been slow. It is fairly likely that California will continue to face water shortages in the long-term.

How tough is the problem? The challenge of the water crisis in California has stumped even Silicon Valley’s pre-eminent investors. “Not sure I have much to say on the water crisis that is enlightening,” said Vinod Khosla, one of Silicon Valley’s famous venture investors who has made significant clean-technology investments.

We can save 10 to 20% of that agriculture water usage in a simple time-tested fashion.
